Who we are
Abiet Logistics (“Abiet”, “we”, “us”) provides freight shipping and related logistics services from Toronto, Ontario, including Canada–Sierra Leone shipments. This policy describes our handling of personal information from website users, shippers, consignees, customers and prospective customers.
Information we collect
Contact and account information: names, telephone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, company details and communications.
Shipment and recipient information: shipper/consignee identities and addresses, cargo descriptions, pickup/delivery instructions, declared values, invoices, photos, shipping and tracking records.
Compliance information: customs declarations, identity documentation or other information reasonably required for export/import compliance, restricted-item checks and fraud prevention.
Transaction and website data: payments and billing records, service selections, IP addresses, device information, cookies and site usage. Card payment data may be collected directly by the payment provider rather than stored by Abiet.
Why we use it
To provide quotes; accept and fulfill bookings; arrange pickups, transport, customs services, delivery and claims handling; verify lawful shipments; invoice and process payments; respond to inquiries; maintain security; and comply with law.
We send promotional email or text messages only where we have the legally required consent or another lawful basis. Operational shipment notifications are separate from marketing.
Consent, limits and sharing
We collect and use information for identified and reasonable purposes, explain material practices, and seek meaningful consent where required. We do not sell personal information.
Information may be shared as needed with freight carriers, warehouse and delivery providers, customs brokers, port and border authorities, insurers, banks, payment processors, website/hosting providers, professional advisers and law enforcement where authorized or required. We use reasonable contractual and other safeguards with service providers.
International transfers and storage
Shipment operations may require information to be processed or disclosed in Canada, Sierra Leone and other countries used in the shipping route or by service providers. Privacy laws and government access rules in those jurisdictions may differ. We use safeguards appropriate to the information and the relationship.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for shipment administration, tax/accounting, disputes, claims and legal obligations, then securely delete, anonymize or otherwise dispose of it. Actual retention schedules are maintained internally.
We maintain appropriate organizational, physical and technical protections. No transmission or storage method is completely risk-free.
Your choices and requests
You may contact us to request access to or correction of personal information, withdraw consent where applicable, challenge our practices or ask about retention. Legal, commercial and regulatory exceptions may apply.
